Ernie von Erenberg is an absolutely stunning 2 year old coated German Shepherd. He is very large for a German Shepherd; we think he may be a King Shepherd because of his size. He is very gentle and good with other dogs. He met a little alpha dog; Ernie was concerned and hid behind the volunteer. Ernie is very loving and has a soft personality. He is very anxious to please and wants to be a good boy. Ernie lived in a home with children and was devoted to his family but he isn’t comfortable meeting new people because he is insecure. We feel a quiet home without a lot of people coming and going would be ideal for Ernie. A home without kids would be ideal so he's not around the many friends of the children in his family. A few canine buddies would be good also. Ernie needs someone who understands that he doesn’t want strangers coming up to meet him or when new guests come he should be in a crate or outside. At the kennel Ernie feels secure and is comfortable and outgoing, he just needs a little understanding and he will be an amazing new family companion!
